A daring decision to help a friend leaves Kat Brown, mother, teacher, and farmer dealing with situations that her calm and uneventful life have left her unprepared for.

Camp NaNo August 2012: "Nighttime Reading" 
A quiet bookstore recieves two uninvited guests and turns poor Jeanne's world upside down. The things that have only existed in books begin to walk into her quiet store and her life. Can she read fast enough to keep herself out of trouble?

Camp NaNo June 2012: "Shadow's Sight"
Kat is a photographer working to get her own gallery show when one night on an assignment she snaps a picture that gets her into deep trouble. Suddenly she's in the center of a maelstrom of a world that she never knew existed where she has to question everything and everyone; where believing and trusting the wrong person could lead to her own death. 


NaNoWriMo Nov. 2011: "Blame the Dog" 

A man is cursed to live in the body of a dog for failing in his duty to protect a human of unnatural powers. Despite his fall in consequence he has never given up protecting the family line and now the granddaughter of the deceased man is about to become a victim. Can he stop it from happening all over again?

NaNoWriMo Nov. 2011:"Summer of the Sword -Rise of the Sword"

Sera is Unusual. When everyone in the world around her is a magic user to some degree Sera is not. Being born without magic, Sera is an oddity. At twenty summers and magic-less she is not marriage material and past the age of apprenticeship. Taught by her father, swordsmanship is the one thing she truly excels at when she isn't plagued by debilitating headaches. Resigned to a life of solitude and farming, her life takes a sudden turn when an old man stops at their humble cottage for a rest and odd things begin to happen to Sera and her headaches begin to lessen. What does it mean? Is there a future for her that doesn't include her father's comfortable farm?

Progress: Still not pleased with this piece. Lost about half of my 50k work count when I had a major malfunction. Seriously considering a full re-write.

Camp NaNo August 2011: "How I Killed Napoleon Bonaparte"
What happens when a woman from the twenty-first century travels back in time only to land in the middle of Napoleon's court?
